Dessert wine made from grapes that are harvested later in the season and are therefore extra concentrated. The combination with the intense taste of dark chocolate creates a true taste sensation. BLUE NUN is one of the oldest wine brands in Germany. It has a long track record of making quality wines, so these wines have found their way around the world. The brand can rightly be called an icon. It all started in 1857 when Hermann Sichel started his wine business in Mainz. In 1921, H. Sichel Söhne stood at the cradle of the Brand BLUE NUN when it was decided to reward the wine from the excellent vintage 1921 with a special new label: BLUE NUN. This brand immediately received the appreciation it deserved and was served in top London star restaurants, among others. In the early thirties no less than 1000 boxes were shipped to the UK, for that time it was exceptional if such a quantity of the same brand were sold. Today, this wine is still very popular internationally. In 1995, Sichel teamed up with Langguth to create BLUE NUN as the company is today. The focus is on making quality wine. This wine is continuously refined using the most modern techniques. Over time, the wine has become a bit drier and at the same time the taste has become slightly fresher. The passion to continuously improve the BLUE NUN wines has ensured that BLUE NUN has been awarded the predicate “Qualitätswein”.
